About
Introduction
I'm Tihamér Gál. Throughout my career, I've worked on products ranging from sheet metal structures to industrial valves and pumps, and automated pool cover systems. While the products have changed, what has remained constant is my interest in understanding how things work, how they're made, and how they can be improved. To me, good engineering isn't about adding complexity — it's about creating solutions that are reliable, efficient, and practical.

My approach
Whether I'm developing a new product, improving an existing design, or optimizing a process, I try to understand the bigger picture before jumping into details. That approach also shapes how I work with others.
I enjoy collaborating with people from different disciplines because good products aren't created by engineering alone. Manufacturing, sourcing, quality, sales, and customers all bring valuable perspectives that lead to better solutions. It's also why I enjoy staying involved beyond the design phase. Some of the most valuable lessons I've learned have come from working alongside the people who manufacture, assemble, and test the products.
When I have the opportunity to learn a new tool or technology that can improve my work, I tend to take it. That's how I became responsible for 3D scanning at Flowserve and later introduced 3D printing into my work at Dekobo.
Beyond Engineering
When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with friends, travelling, or carrying my analogue film camera in search of moments worth capturing. I enjoy film photography because it encourages me to slow down and appreciate the process as much as the final image.

Looking Ahead
After several years working in Hungary and Spain, I've returned to Budapest and am looking for my next opportunity.
I'm particularly interested in roles where I can take ownership of products, continue learning, and be part of a collaborative team that values continuous improvement.
